The Tree House

Luxury in the heart of Avalon

WELCOME TO THE TREE HOUSE

The Tree House is at the heart of Avalon. It’s a luxury escape in a cedar clad Queenslander style apartment overlooking the Home Farm river flat. Immaculate and fully equipped with everything you need in your home away from home, this is a rural retreat you will never forget.  The dogs will welcome and befriend you from the start, the alpacas rest on the hill above at night, watching over you as you sleep.  The horses will want to make friends and nuzzle you with their velvety noses.  The chooks await your food scraps and gift you probably the most delicious eggs you will ever eat.

The Tree House can accommodate two adults for the ultimate intimate getaway or parents with young children looking for a relaxed farm and nature experience (children are accommodated in disc-o camp beds or you can bring your own carry cot for littlies).

If your children are older, the adults can enjoy some privacy in The Tree House and the teens can have the excitement of camping within cooee on the flat below . . . either way, you are welcome to have a campfire to enjoy the Milky Way overhead.

At Avalon, we believe that the possibilities are endless so tell us what you need and let us help make your dreams come true!

Fantastic Farm Stay for the whole family!

My family of four (2 boys aged 9 and 6) stayed in The Tree House over the Easter long weekend and it was definitely one to remember!  This place is a hidden gem!

I have driven through Taree many times but never ventured inland before.  The countryside is stunning – rolling hills, green pastures and beautiful streams.

The Tree House was clean, cosy and well stocked with fresh eggs from the farm, organic milk and homemade muesli, honey and yoghurt.  The house had a bathroom, very comfy double bed and the owner Sophie made up two extra beds for the boys which were extremely comfortable too.

What I loved best was the fabulous deck that you could sit on and watch the many animals roam the expansive property.  A highlight was sitting on the deck with a glass of wine in the late afternoon and watching the brumbies galloppast down the valley . . . the sound was amazing – it felt like a scene from a movie.

The kids of course had an absolute ball – 3 days wasn’t enough for them.  They swam, kayaked and played in the beautiful river – but the animals were definitely a highlight.  As city kids with no pets, they adored the three dogs who didn’t leave their side – they even joined them on the kayaks!

Sophie was an amazing and thoughtful host, showing the kids how to ‘Cooee’ like a farmer so it echoed through the valley, taught them how to crack a whip, winched them on the flying fox across the river … they loved feeding the animals too – especially the Alpacas who all had their own personality.  Hubby had a great time too – getting in plenty of fly fishing practice over the 3 days.  He caught and released too many to count, mostly native species, such as Bass and Herring.

A couple of tips to help you plan your stay – I would recommend taking aqua/reef shoes if you plan on swimming as the rocks in the river can be sharp.  Take most of your food if you can as the drive into town is a fair way.  Sophie also has great meat and other food on offer – we tried her homemade sausages which were delicious.

We will be back!
