With 4 kilometres of river to share with our guests, we guarantee you the space and silence to really get back to nature.
We welcome self-sufficient experienced bush campers who take only photos and leave only footprints.
You will have up to 100 acres to yourself with over a kilometre of riverscape to swim, fish and paddle in.
Our campers often return year after year, disconnecting from the demands of the every day, and plugging back in to the rhythms, seasons and serenity of our healing oasis

You may not think that in a Covid-19 world you would want to further isolate, but experiencing Avalon River Retreat proved just the tonic we needed. Visiting this other world meant some nurturing connection with all aspects of nature.
The farm animals and wildlife are fantastic. Every animal has a name and we miss them. We also saw our first platypus in the wild. The river and creek are clean and unspoiled and there are extensive forests that we explored both on the property and a pleasant (and spectacular) drive away.
The Tree House cabin was comfy and the pot belly stove most effective on a cold night. Sophie really understood us jaded city-slickers and provided the perect combo of information, home-cooked meals and equipment as needed.
This is a peaceful place where you can retreat from the world and reap its positive energy and peace.
